- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 cup sliced almonds (plus extra for topping)
- Whole almonds (optional for garnish)
- Granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla, and beat until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips and sliced almonds. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Scoop dough onto a lined baking tray. Top with extra sliced almonds, whole almonds, and a pinch of sugar.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until golden around the edges.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can brown the butter before mixing it with the sugars.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
