Description
This delicious butternut squash gratin is creamy and cheesy, perfect as a side dish.
Ingredients

- 2 lb butternut squash (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 0 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 0 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese (grated)
- 0 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
- Warm cream with garlic, thyme, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until fragrant.
- Layer sliced squash in the dish, adding cream and cheese between layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Uncover and bake another 20–25 minutes until golden and tender.
- Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- For a crispier top, broil for a few minutes before serving.
