Description

This delicious butternut squash gratin is creamy and cheesy, perfect as a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 lb butternut squash (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme
  • 0 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese (grated)
  • 0 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
  2. Warm cream with garlic, thyme, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until fragrant.
  3. Layer sliced squash in the dish, adding cream and cheese between layers.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  5. Uncover and bake another 20–25 minutes until golden and tender.
  6. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
