Description

Delicious Cheesy Beef Stuffed Pastry Rolls filled with ground beef and cheddar cheese, wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet puff pastry sheets (usually 2 sheets)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • Cooked and crumbled bacon (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft and translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until well combined.
  6. Remove from heat and let the beef mixture cool slightly.
  7. Once cooled, mix in the shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
  8. Prepare the Pastry:
  9. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  10. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface. If using store-bought sheets, you may need to roll them thinner using a rolling pin.
  11. Slice each sheet into halves or thirds, depending on the desired roll size.
  12. Assemble the Rolls:
  13. Place a generous amount of the beef mixture along one edge of each pastry rectangle.
  14. Roll the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
  15. Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  16. Bake the Rolls:
  17. Brush the tops with beaten egg to ensure a golden finish.
  18. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
  19. Serve:
  20. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley and crumbled bacon if desired.
  21. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra cheesy experience, sprinkle additional cheese on top of the rolls before baking.
  • These rolls can be prepared in advance and kept in the freezer. Just thaw completely before baking.
  • Feel free to experiment with spices, like adding chili powder or smoked paprika for extra flavor.
  • Serve with a side of sour cream or a dipping sauce of your choice for added taste.
