- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 cup cherry preserves (or cherry pie filling)
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional for drizzle)
- Flaky sea salt (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Beat softened butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla, then beat until fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly mix dry ingredients into the wet for a deep chocolate dough with perfect texture.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Use your thumb (or a spoon) to press a well in the center.
- Add about ½ tsp cherry preserves into each well.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until just set.
- Cool slightly, then drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle flaky salt.

- Allow cookies to cool completely before storing.
