Description

This delicious banana bread is moist and full of flavor, perfect for breakfast or a snack!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour (spoon and level)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups extra ripe bananas (mashed, about 34 large bananas)
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9×5 loaf pan with parchment paper or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon and mix until combined.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the sugar and softened butter until creamy. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Mix in the mashed bananas and sour cream and mix just until combined.
  5. Add in the dry ingredients and beat until it’s all combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Spoon half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Spread the brown sugar mixture on top evenly. Then spoon the remaining batter on top.
  9. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk the powdered sugar and milk together, drizzle over cooled bread before slicing.
