Description

Delicious homemade garlic knots made with fresh herbs and active dry yeast.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (for browning)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp mixed fresh herbs (parsley and thyme)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt; mix until combined.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and cook for another minute.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Brush the knots with the brown butter mixture before baking for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Ensure the water is not too hot when activating the yeast to avoid killing it.
