Description

Delicious puff pastry bites filled with a savory mushroom and leek mixture.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (17 oz) puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 cup leeks, finely chopped (white part only)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut into squares.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add leeks and mushrooms; sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Spoon the mushroom-leek mixture onto each pastry piece. Fold over or cover with another layer of pastry.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
