Description
A delicious baked chicken recipe topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperonis.

- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ½ onion
- 1 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (15 oz)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt (or can use garlic powder)
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
- 1 oz pepperonis (approximately 12–14 slices)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and spray a 9X13 baking pan with non stick cooking spray.
- Lay the chicken breasts out evenly in the baking pan and top with the onions.
- In a small bowl, stir together the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced pepperonis.
- Bake for 5 more minutes in the oven to melt the cheese.
- Let the chicken set for 5-10 minutes and serve warm. Enjoy!
