Description

Delicious savory stuffed pasta rolls filled with ricotta, Italian sausage, and topped with marinara sauce and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large lasagna sheets
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled Italian sausage
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until softened. Add cooked sausage and mix well. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a bowl, combine ricotta, half the mozzarella, onion mixture, basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook Pasta: Boil lasagna sheets in salted water until al dente. Drain and lay flat on a clean surface.
  4. Assemble Rolls: Spread a thin layer of the filling on each pasta sheet. Roll each sheet tightly and place seam side down in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the rolls. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  5. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute sausage with mushrooms for a vegetarian option.
  • Use fresh pasta sheets for a more delicate texture.
  • Add chili flakes to the filling for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
