Description
Deliciously spooky brownies topped with a white chocolate spiderweb and gummy spiders for a fun Halloween treat!
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (for spiderweb decoration)
- Black fondant or gummy spiders (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Melt Butter:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and cocoa powder. Add melted butter and stir until combined.
- Add Wet Ingredients:
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry and Wet:
In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Add Chocolate Chips:
Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake:
Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Create Spiderweb Decoration:
Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Use a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner snipped off to draw circles on top of the baked brownie. Use a toothpick to draw lines from the center to the edges of the brownie to create a spiderweb effect.
- Finish with Halloween Touch:
Place fondant or gummy spiders on top of the brownies for an extra spooky touch.
Notes
- For a fudgier brownie, reduce baking time slightly.
- Ensure the butter is melted, not hot, to prevent curdling the eggs.
- If white chocolate is too thick for piping, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to thin it out.
