Ingredients
Scale
- 1 piece (approximately 6-8 oz) Ribeye or Sirloin Steak
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 large or 2 medium Potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- To taste Salt and Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
- For garnish Chopped Parsley (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Potatoes:
- Dice the potatoes into small cubes.
- In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Add the diced potatoes and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Cook until golden and crispy, stirring occasionally, about 15-20 minutes. Remove and keep warm.
-
Cook the Steak:
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
-
Fry the Eggs:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 2-3 minutes.
- Season with a bit of salt and pepper.
-
Assemble the Platter:
- Place the cooked steak on a plate.
- Add the crispy fried potatoes beside it.
- Top with the eggs.
-
Garnish and Serve:
- Optional: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the potatoes and eggs for garnish.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Steak Tips: Let the steak come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer for precision: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Egg Tips: Use fresh eggs for the best texture and taste.
- Potatoes: Soak potatoes in water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch for extra crispiness.
- Resting Period for Steak: Allow the steak to rest after cooking to retain juices.
