Description

A hearty breakfast featuring juicy steak, crispy potatoes, and perfectly fried eggs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 piece (approximately 6-8 oz) Ribeye or Sirloin Steak
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 large or 2 medium Potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • To taste Salt and Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • For garnish Chopped Parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:

    • Dice the potatoes into small cubes.
    • In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
    • Add the diced potatoes and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    • Cook until golden and crispy, stirring occasionally, about 15-20 minutes. Remove and keep warm.
  2. Cook the Steak:

    • Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
    • Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  3. Fry the Eggs:

    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
    • Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Season with a bit of salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the Platter:

    • Place the cooked steak on a plate.
    • Add the crispy fried potatoes beside it.
    • Top with the eggs.
  5. Garnish and Serve:

    • Optional: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the potatoes and eggs for garnish.
    • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Steak Tips: Let the steak come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer for precision: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  • Egg Tips: Use fresh eggs for the best texture and taste.
  • Potatoes: Soak potatoes in water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch for extra crispiness.
  • Resting Period for Steak: Allow the steak to rest after cooking to retain juices.
