Description
A delicious and easy breakfast sandwich made with English muffins, sausage patties, eggs, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 English muffins
- 4 sausage patties
- 4 eggs
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Optional: Hot sauce or ketchup
Instructions
- Prepare the Muffins: Split the English muffins in half and lightly butter each cut side.
- Cook the Sausage Patties: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. Set aside.
- Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet, melt a bit of butter if needed. Crack the eggs into the skillet, and cook them over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still slightly runny, or cook to your preference.
- Toast the Muffins: Place the buttered English muffins onto the skillet, cut side down. Toast them until golden brown.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Place one sausage patty on the bottom half of each toasted muffin. Add a cooked egg on top of each sausage patty. Place a slice of cheddar cheese over the egg. Top with the other half of the muffin.
- Melt the Cheese: If the cheese hasn’t melted, place the assembled sandwiches back in the skillet over low heat and cover with a lid for a minute until the cheese melts.
Notes
- Customize Your Sandwich: Add spinach, tomatoes, or avocado slices for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Spice It Up: Add a dash of hot sauce or a sprinkle of paprika to the eggs for extra flavor.
- Make It Ahead: Cook the sausage patties and eggs in advance; assemble and heat when ready to enjoy.
- Cheese Options: Experiment with different types of cheese like Swiss or Gouda for varied flavors.
